Matt and Benedict present Steven’s Special BAFTA

The Doctor and Sherlock, known as Matt Smith and Benedict Cumberbatch in ‘real life’, presented Steven Moffat with his Special Award at the BAFTA TV Awards last night.

The writer received the accolade as recognition for his years of “outstanding creative writing contribution to television”. He is currently serving as Doctor Who’s showrunner, and is also the co-creator of Sherlock. The stars from the two dramas were on hand to thank their friend and colleague – the ‘Moffinator’ – for his hard work and impossible scripts!

Steven recently teased that “proper legitimate surprises” lie ahead for the Doctor…

    That was absolutely brilliant. Steven’s cackle when Benedict and Matt gave him the award! :D And their repartee! This has made me smile in the midst of all my revision, which I should probably now get back to.
