Trapped and alone in a terrifying Dalek city, the Doctor is at the heart of an evil Empire: no sonic, no TARDIS, nobody to help. With his greatest temptation before him, can the Doctor resist? And will there be mercy?

The Dalek drama continued tonight and for the Doctor, the stakes had never been higher…

Well, not this early into a brand new series, anyway! After last week’s shocking cliffhanger (which you can still discuss, here, by the way!), fans were left to wonder whether or not Clara and Missy would get out of the Series 9 premiere alive. Things went from bad to worse for our beloved Time Lord, meanwhile, who found himself caught up in one of the biggest moral dilemmas in sci-fi history as the very mythology of the show was challenged.

The Witch’s Familiar gave us more pepperpots than we could shake a stick at but was it a worthy conclusion to a story that has arguably changed the Doctor’s relationship with his greatest enemy forever? Rate and discuss tonight’s developments in the comments below…

jenna-says-series-9-exit-is-very-hard

Jenna Coleman has admitted that it was “very hard” to say goodbye to Doctor Who and revealed that filming her final scenes “did not feel real at all”.

The actress will bow out as Clara Oswald at some point during the current series after it was confirmed last week that she’ll be starring in a major ITV drama as Queen Victoria. Chatting to Entertainment Week, the outgoing companion shared nothing but gratitude as she reflected on her epic three year TARDIS tenure. “It’s become my home away from home, so it was weird,” she said. “It’s been a special part of my life.

She continued: “The storytelling is so dynamic and whimsical and magical. You feel like you’re in a fairytale so it was really hard to walk away from it. It’s a lot more than just a job too. The friendships I have with the crew and Peter, it’s very hard to say goodbye to it.”

Series 9 continues tomorrow night in The Witch’s Familiar on BBC One at 7.45pm.

jenna-says-her-final-scenes-are-emotional

Jenna Colman has revealed that her final Doctor Who scenes are “emotional”.

Yesterday it was announced that the actress will be bowing out as Clara Oswald during Series 9 and Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw was on hard to chat to her about the experience of filming her final scene. “I have left the TARDIS,” she said. “It’s happened. I’ve filmed my last scene and it was emotional. It’s been in the works for a long time. Steven and I sat down a year and a half ago to work out how we could tell the best story. I think we’ve done it. It’s really cool.”

Series 9 of Doctor Who starts tonight on BBC One at 7:40pm in The Magician’s Apprentice.

peter-and-jenna-rock-out-at-abbey-road

Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman journeyed to Abbey Road this morning to recreate the iconic Beatles photo ahead of Doctor Who’s long awaited return to our screens.

The stars of the show were even joined by a concierge of Daleks who were also spotted getting up to all kinds of malevolent mischievous earlier this week when they invaded the London Underground. It’s all because they’ll be back with a vengeance in tonight’s Series 9 premiere, The Magician’s Apprentice, which is the first part of a double whammy of drama marking the return of Michelle Gomez as Missy.
