Amy a “completely different person” in Series 6
A short new interview with Karen Gillan has appeared online today, in which she discusses how Amy will be different in the new series, which she’s currently filming in Cardiff.
“I think that she’s a completely different person at the end of Series 5 to when we meet her, when she’s really quite odd and a bit messed up in the first episode,” The Mirror quotes. “I think she’s much more kind of in tune with what she understands about herself mostly and the Doctor by the end of the series. And she’s been through a lot.”
The actress added: “I think there’s a lot more to come in the next series. I really want to just keep on developing her character and I want her to evolve and change lots.”
Great! Now I might like her a bit more this series!
I bet she becomes River Song. I just know
And this is the big answer to those who have said Amy was “wooden” (not) in Series Five. But, I’m quite intrigued by the major development if Amy starts off in Episode One as “a bit messed up” and changes throughout the series in comparison to Series Five.
I hope her Character is more darker. But this is excellent news
@TE
she was referring to Amy in the Eleventh Hour vs at the end of the Big Bang and series 6…
I think Steven Moffat did this purposely that evil, evil man. I love Amy Pond, she is the companion Rose Tyler should have been instead of being a cow. Now that the crack is sealed and Amy Pond has a great and loving family – everything could change … her attitude, her occupation of being a kissogram and she might be more mature (i might be a bit naive) since she is now married.
Shes River song
she river song, WAT? just when you think youve got it sussed someone comes up with a theory and my head is sent spinning again:S
Amy Pond is River Song? Yeah, yeah. Did I mention Harriet Jones is the Supreme Dalek?
Wait, I thought Rose was River Song! And Donna was the Rani, and Jack was Martha, and The Face of Boe was…….
Or, just hear me out, maye Amy is…….AMY! And River Song is…….River Song!
Seriously, why do so many people INSIST on these multi-personna ideas?
@Darren Adams
No no no. River Song is the Rani. Or Romana. I mean Tom Baker and Lalla Ward were married. Therefore the Doctor and River are a couple… right?
heheh
Yeah, Amy is River Song and my big toe the the Cyber King.
She can’t be River Song as Amy and River Song have touched each other (Not in that way…) and you can’t touch future/past selves. Amy did during the big bang, but the world was ending anyway so little paradoxes wouldn’t matter.
Or, off course, Amy is just another companion in another long line of companions. What is this crazy obsession with River Song?
I like River Song myself, but alas…I only believe her to be River Song and not a future EVERYBODY else.
How come we never did this for Star Trek?
Wesley is really Commander Riker and Geordi is really Tuvok from the future…..Etc. Etc. Etc.
Amy WAS wooden through most of S5: a pre-packed ready-to-go companion-in-a-box with little character development (though Amy’s Choice and Vincent are exceptions). No question in my mind that’s WHY she’s getting a makeover in S6.
But Rose was ten times the companion, and that won’t be improved on very much. Every Nu-Who companion has just been emulating Rose one way or another. If they develop Amy it will only be to make her less of the selfish cow that she’s been and more like the self-sacrificing world-saving heroine that Rose was, whose devotion to the Doctor wasn’t her weakness but her strength. Why do showrunners weary us with this endlessly predictable gone-tomorrow companion replacement lark? They already had the best and let her slip away. Twice.
As for Amy being River Song… River is a past love known to the Tenth and one other Doctor. So say Moffat and Murray Gold. I wonder who that could be…? It certainly rules Amy right out of the running.
