Comic Con: Matt on Amy’s “gut-wrenching” finale
Matt Smith has told fans to prepare for Amy and Rory’s exit in Series 7, saying it’ll be a “gut-wrenching” experience.
“Fans can expect a heart-wrenching time saying goodbye to the Ponds,” he told Collider at Comic Con, before teasing what else is coming up in their latest adventures. “We have also got dinosaurs, Daleks and Weeping Angels,” he said. “It feels as big and as bold as ever, with some great directors and monsters.” He cryptically suggests we rewatch The Eleventh Hour for a clue about the Pond’s departure…
Speaking about the ongoing film speculation, and the rumours that it will “start from scratch” as a reboot of the series, he revealed: “There’s talk of it. I think David Yates is attached to do something, but whoever is playing the TV Doctor should be in the movie. I think it’d take four or five years to get something like that off the ground, and I don’t anticipate I’ll be the Doctor. They should let Steven write it because he’s the best.”
