50th anniversary latest – Filming wraps on special!
Marcus Wilson has announced via Twitter that filming on the 50th anniversary special of Doctor Who has wrapped.
The producer of the series confirmed the news this Monday by thanking its cast and crew with the tweet: “That’s a wrap on the anniversary – it will be special!”, while special effects supervisor Danny Hargreaves marked the end of production by posting: “Wow it’s going to be epic !!!!!!!!!”.
The 3D adventure will be shown on TV and in cinemas.
While the episode is being kept “under lock and key” we do know that David Tennant and Billie Piper will be returning as the Tenth Doctor and Rose during the “momentous” festivities. In the last month, filming has taken place at iconic landmarks the Tower of London and Trafalgar Square, plus the shape-shifting Zygons are back. Confirmed guest stars are John Hurt and Joanna Page with Jemma Redgrave and Ingrid Oliver.
