Joanna Page full of praise for “fantastic” John Hurt
Joanna Page has discussed her role in the 50th anniversary special saying “it was so much fun” to be involved.
The actress told Radio Times: “I’ve wanted to be in Doctor Who for ages – they just phoned and said, ‘Will you be in it?’ and I said, ‘Oh my god, yes, definitely.”
The Gavin and Stacey star’s casting in the 3D episode which will also be shown in cinemas was revealed when a picture of her was released at the read-through.
She admitted it was initially “scary and intimidating” to film scenes alongside Matt Smith and David Tennant, who will be returning as the Tenth Doctor, and was also was full of praise for the “fantastic” John Hurt, whose mysterious character was introduced in The Name of the Doctor. “He’s got amazing stories,” she said, “and that amazing voice. He starts saying lines and you’re like ‘Oh my god, you’re the best actor I have ever seen’.”
The “momentous” 50th anniversary special will air on Saturday 23rd November 2013.
