The Doctor and Clara, with their old friend Rigsy, find themselves in a magical alien world, hidden on a street in the heart of London. Sheltered within are some of the most fearsome creatures of the universe… and Ashildr! With a death sentence hanging over their heads, not all of the intruders will get out alive.
After last weekend’s innovative adventure (it was Sleep No More, by the way, just in case you’ve blocked it out of your memory for whatever reason), Doctor Who went back to what we know and love tonight for what’s been one of Series 9’s most anticipated episodes yet.
And, in true Doctor Who fashion, it was one of those anticipated episodes that we literally knew nothing about. Which is, you know, fun. We did know, however, that it would feature the return of two familiar faces in the form of Maisie Williams as Ashildr – who hadn’t seen the Doctor for centuries – and Joivan Wade as Rigsy, who, erm… last saw the Doctor much more recently (last year, in fact). Poor old Rigsy called upon Team TARDIS for help when he discovered a mysterious tattoo counting down to his untimely demise which meant that it was time for our heroes to Face the Raven by journeying to a magical alien world that probably reminded you of Harry Potter. Unfortunately, not everybody would get out alive…
So, that was Face the Raven and this is where you can tell us what you thought of it! There were shocks and surprises around every hidden corner but were you ultimately impressed by Sarah Dollard’s Whoniversal debut? After that cliffhanger, it’s now full steam ahead as we countdown to Heaven Sent, but what will lie in store for the Doctor in the first chapter of this year’s highly anticipated series finale? We have no idea, but we’re terrified already…

The Doctor and Clara Oswald will Face the Raven next weekend in what can only be described as one of the most anticipated episodes of Series 9.
With the knowledge that Jenna Coleman will be bidding adieu to the TARDIS, fans have been eagerly speculating as and when the impossible girl’s time will finally run out. It hasn’t been officially confirmed that the next episode will feature her departure, but it’s certainly suggested in the trailer, along with the news that the following episode, Heaven Sent, will see the Doctor facing his greatest challenge alone.
So, what do you think? Will Face the Raven be Clara’s final hour, or is it all a red herring to keep us guessing until the bitter end? All we can do is theorise until it actually airs, but luckily that’s something that us Whovians have been proven to do exceedingly well. In fact, we’ve a whole discussion dedicated solely to soufflé girl’s swansong, with 64% of our readers convinced that she’ll nobly sacrifice herself to save her beloved Time Lord. In the meantime, here is the newly released poster for Episode 10 which – in true Doctor Who fashion – tells us literally nothing about what lies in store. It’s better than nothing, right?

It’s hard to believe that the Series 9 finale is already in sight but there’s still plenty of shocks to come.
The next episode, Face the Raven, looks set to feature returning faces and surprises galore as the Doctor and Clara, with their old friend Rigsy, find themselves in a magical alien world. But, this time, will all of them get out alive? Oh, and did we mention, Ashildr is back, too!?
Face the Raven airs on Saturday 21st November at 8:10pm on BBC One.
The Game of Thrones star was recently introduced as Ashildr who went on to challenge the Doctor in unexpected ways in The Girl Who Died/The Woman Who Lived two-parter, at the end of which the door was left open for her character’s comeback. As it turns out, it will be a lot sooner than some of you may have thought, as she’ll be seen in Face the Raven, written by Sarah Dollard and directed by Justin Molotnikov, which will air on BBC One on Saturday 21st November.
The episode in question will also feature a reappearance from Joivan Wade as Rigsy who was first seen in Series 8’s Flatline. Read the synopsis for the intriguing episode below…

Fans were left to speculate who would be penning the episode when a picture of their name was cryptically omitted from a recent picture of the script. Now it has been announced that it is Sarah Dollard whose previous credits include The Game and Being Human. “Getting to play in the Doctor Who toy box is a dream come true,” she said. “It’s an honour to contribute to a show that has brought me such joy as a fan. However, some days I’ve been too excited to sit down and type!”
The episode, which is directed by Justin Molotnikov, is being filmed now and will feature the return of Joivan Wade as Rigsy, the young graffiti artist who appeared in Flatline last year.

The cast and crew read through for Episode 10 took place in Cardiff yesterday as production on Series 9 continues.
The official Doctor Who Twitter has teased fans with a behind the scenes picture of the script which, rather intriguingly, has had the identity of its writer blurred out. They elaborated: “We can’t tell you more at this stage, but will do soon…”.
