Shapeshifting Zygons are everywhere in the UK, and there is no way of knowing who to trust. With UNIT neutralised, only the Doctor stands in their way. But how do you stop a war? And what can the Doctor do to save his friends?
Doctor Who’s given us its fair share of cliffhangers so far this year (every single episode, to be precise!) but last week’s was the biggest and most explosive yet. In fact, if you’re like us, which we’re guessing you probably are, then you’ve spent the last 7 days wondering how the hell the Doctor was going to get out of the mind-boggling mess that was the final moments of The Zygon Invasion. Spoilers: He officially kicked Zygon butt. Well, d’uh.
Still, it all looked very hopeless for a scary minute there, didn’t it? As Series 9 continued in The Zygon Inversion, those shape-shifting savages were all over the shop and there was only one man standing in their way of finally claiming world domination. Unfortunately for our beloved Time Lord, though, all of his friends were (presumed) dead which meant that he had no idea who he could even trust anymore. The whole thing was far from ideal.
The friend was inside the enemy and the enemy was inside the friend in tonight’s episode (somewhere in the vastness of time and space, Missy is singing, “I told you so!” right about now!), but what did you think of Series 9’s latest offering? Was it a climactic conclusion or a dizzying disappointment? You can rate & discuss The Zygon Inversion in the comments…

Well, quite a bit, as it turns out, because after that cliffhanger (we’re still not over it!), shapeshifting Zygons are everywhere in the UK. With UNIT neutralised, only the Doctor stands in their way. But how do you stop a war? And what can the Doctor do to save his friends?
The Zygon Inversion airs on Saturday 7th November at the earlier time of 8pm on BBC One.

The latest Doctor Who Magazine goes on sale later this week and the cover features a familiar face as the issue looks ahead to her return in the new series.
Osgood will be reunited with the Doctor in Episodes 7 and 8 of Series 9, a Zygon two-parter written by Peter Harness, and her involvement is particularly intriguing because the character was controversially killed off by Missy at the end of the last series. Anything can happen in Doctor Who, of course, and her real life alter ego Ingrid Oliver has spilled the beans about what fans can expect from her third comeback.

Peter Harness has revealed that fans can look forward to a big cliffhanger during his upcoming Doctor Who two-parter.
It’s been confirmed that the Kill the Moon writer has put pen to paper for a double adventure which will be broadcast as Episodes 7 and 8 of Series 9. The episodes will mark the return of Osgood and the Zygons which Peter admitted is “a privilege”, albeit one that is ”a bit unbelievable”. “I think it’s quite an exciting story,” he told Digital Spy. “Unfortunately, I’ve got two fan favourites in my hands now, which can only set me up to disappoint people!”
He continued: “But it’s nice to do a cliffhanger, and I tried to write the biggest one I could.”
Filming for Series 9 is currently underway. It’s scheduled to air on BBC One in the autumn.

Osgood and the Zygons will be returning to Doctor Who, it has been confirmed today.
Ingrid Oliver will be reprising her role as the popular UNIT scientist, who was killed by Missy during the Series 8 finale, in Episodes 7 and 8 of the new series. Steven Moffat has teased that “anything can happen” as she’ll be back alongside the Zygons who were last seen in The Day of the Doctor, during which Osgood was cloned by the shape-shifting monsters. The two-parter, written by Peter Harness and directed by Daniel Nettheim, will also feature Kate Stewart.
“Osgood is back, fresh from her recent murder,” Steven teased. “We told you Osgood was dead, but she’s back in action. This time though, can the Doctor trust his number one fan?”
Ingrid added: “There is always that secret hope you’ll get the call asking you to come back, so to receive that call is unexpected but brilliant. I was so sure that Osgood was a gonner!”
Other guest stars for the episodes include Jaye Griffiths, Cleopatra Dickens, Sasha Dickens, Abhishek Singh, Todd Kramer, Jill Winternitz, Nicholas Asbury, Jack Parker and Aidan Cook.
