The Bafta Cymru Awards 2010 were held at the Millennium Centre in Cardiff yesterday, and as BBC News reports, for Doctor Who and its spin offs it was a night of success!

Producer Peter Bennett and editor Will Oswald won Best Drama Series and Best Editor for their respective work on Torchwood: Children of Earth, while Doctor Who added Best Design and Best Make-Up to its trophy cabinet. In addition, The Sarah Jane Adventures reigned supreme in the Best Interactive category!

Overall, the Big Three won 5 out of the 7 gongs they were nominated for. Director of BBC Cymru Wales, Menna Richards, said: “I am thrilled to see so many BBC Cymru Wales programmes picking up such well-deserved awards, and in such a broad range of categories. They are a real tribute to the very talented people who strive to produce such high quality and distinctive content for BBC Cymru Wales.”
