“We wouldn’t be celebrating Doctor Who’s fabulous 50th if it weren’t for 3 major factors,” Katy said. “First, the original concept. Second, the commitment, passion and creativity of the teams that have worked on it over the years and third, and most importantly, all the fans from around the world, some of which are featured in WhovianNet’s The Doctor & I! Thanks for your love and support over these 50 brilliant years of the unstoppable Who!”

We were overwhelmed by the response the book had and beyond thrilled to see fans of all ages getting involved. One of our youngest contributors was BeyondTheMarquee’s resident Doctor Who reviewer Lindalee Rose. Listen to her Who tale in the player below…

We’re VERY excited to finally be able to bring you the cover of our upcoming Doctor Who book, The Doctor & I!
Back in June we embarked on the mighty task to produce a book full of Whovian stories and memoirs to release in time for the 50th anniversary in November. We invited visitors to share the tale of their introduction to the Who fandom and were absolutely blown away by the response, receiving over 150 entries from all over the world. We’ve been working our socks off to get it ready and now it has a cover to boot!
We really hope the artwork is instantly recognisable to Doctor Who fans and just like the TARDIS it’s based on, the book will be bigger on the inside with your heartwarming tales of just how being a Doctor Who fan has shaped, and sometimes even saved, your lives…
Pre-orders will open shortly and the book will have a RRP of £8.99. It will be available as a standard paperback and also in ebook format. It will be published by GJB Publishing.
We’d love to know your thoughts so please feel free to post any of your feedback below.
The deadline for The Doctor & I has arrived which means we are no longer accepting contributions.
Firstly we’d like to say a bigger on the inside “THANK YOU!” to everyone who has supported the project over the last few months. Whether you helped spread the word or contributed to the project directly, or both, we really couldn’t have done any of it without the help and enthusiasm – particular thanks go to David-Tennant.com, Kasterborous, TVCriticAmy, Chris Jones Gaming and The Doctor Who Site!
So what happens now? Over the coming weeks we’ll be working our little socks off (think of us as elves in Santa’s workshop except taller and wearing Fezzes!) to get the book all set for release. We’re aiming to get it out in time for the 50th anniversary but its exact release and price is still to be determined. Suffice to say we’ve got a mighty yet exciting task on our hands as we make our way through the entries (all 150+ of them) with each one serving as a heartfelt reminder of just what makes our Whovian family so fantastic.
And that’s what it’s all about, right? We set out to make a worldwide Whovian celebration and with entries ranging from the UK to the USA, to Canada, Australia, Russia and more, we can’t wait to show you the finished product – we will try and include all of them if we can and we’ll contact you to give you the thumbs up. 150+ to read, so please bear with!
Thanks again and watch this space for development updates over the coming months – we’ll leave you with this brilliantly creative entry from YouTuber AmandasChronicles…
