Hot on the heels of yesterday’s announcement that Series 5 Episode 12 is called The Pandorica Opens, the official Doctor Who website has today updated its series overview with the title of Episode 13!

The guide reveals that part two of the series finale, which will broadcast on June 26th, is called The Big Bang - another title which has been doing the rumour rounds for months. The highly-anticipated episode will mark the culmination of the forever growing crack mystery.

Karen Gillan has recently described the series climax as “mindblowing”, and noted elsewhere that she “cried rather a lot” the first time she read the Steven Moffat scripts.

is it just me or does “The Big Bang” just lack in epicness? as much as i like moffats new stories, the episode titles are a bit well rubbish tbh…apart from the beast below

What? Like “The End of Time” is so epic?

Both titles aren’t that bad really. “The End of Time” signified the Time Lords trying to bring about the end of time, whereas “The Big Bang” obviously conjurs up images of the big bang, which scientists believe was the beginning of the universe as we know it.

So we’ve had a title suggesting the end of the universe and a title suggesting a possible beginning of something.

Who cares about the episode tites, really? As long as the actual episodes are brilliant, they can call them anything they want as far as I’m concerned.

I think some of the episode titles this series have been great: The Time Of Angels, Victory Of The Daleks (better than the actual story), The Hungry Earth, and it’s always good to have a “Doctor” title, so I’ll include Vincent and the Doctor.
